Sylvestrians rallied to the polls on July 12th, 2024, to select the young nation's flag. Voter turn out was reported to be at more than 87%. The successful public referendum to choose Sylvestria's national flag marks a significant milestone in the country's efforts to establish a national identity.
The selected design features three horizontal stripes of green, white, and green, representing the verdant green of Sylvestria's forests and agricultural fields, and a central, yellow, eight-pointed star symbolizing unity, regeneration, and prosperity. This symbolism clearly resonates with Sylvestrians, as more than 70% of the votes were cast in favor of the winning option.
